Hi! I finished the book Into the Wild, so I am now reading the next book in the first series, Fire and Ice. In Into the Wild, Rusty gets renamed Firepaw. The Clan names work like this: When you are a kit, your name ends with "kit." For example, Graykit. When you are an apprentice learning to be a warrior, your name ends with "paw". i.e. Firepaw. Your warrior name doesn't have to stick to any guidelines. Some warriors' names are: Goldenflower, Longtail, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, etc. If you become a leader, the last part of your name gets changed to "star". This warrior was Bluekit, then Bluepaw, then Bluefur, and now she is the leader of Thunderclan, Bluestar.
At the end of Into the Wild, Firepaw and his friend Graypaw become warriors. Firepaw's new name is Fireheart, and Graypaw is now Graystripe. Their other friend, Ravenpaw, is still an apprentice. One day, Fireheart hears Ravenpaw's mentor, Tigerclaw, plotting with another cat to kill Ravenpaw. Fireheart goes back and tells Graystripe. They tell Ravenpaw and now they are making a plan with him to escape. He is not sure where to go, but they have some ideas.
I really like this book so far because there is a lot of exciting moments in it. I have read these books, but it was a long time ago and I don't really remember all that much from it. It was good refreshing my memory. The first series is one of my favorites because you can't really tell what is going to happen. The first time I read Fire and Ice, I thought that Fireheart and Graystripe were going to keep it a secret that Tigerclaw wanted to kill Ravenpaw. I thought that they would keep it a secret for too long and that Tigerclaw would end up getting killed himself. I had this whole idea that Tigerclaw was going to wait until Ravenpaw was alone, and then try to kill him. I thought that maybe Graystripe, Fireheart, and some other warriors would jump out of the bushes and fight against Tigerclaw on Ravenpaw's side.
Well, this ended up not happening. When I was reading the second series, I had other ideas of what was going to happen. I really like how the book hints that certain things are going to happen, and then it ends up not happening, but the complete opposite ends up taking place. I also really like how each chapter is told from a different character's point of view. I like this because it doesn't get boring with the narrator telling us about the same feelings and ideas that the character has over and over and over.
Overall, I think that I like Fire and Ice better than Into the Wild. I like it better because in Into the Wild, the book pretty much only told about Graypaw and Firepaw's training to become a warrior. Fire and Ice is more exciting to me because there are more battles and adventures. Don't get me wrong here, I am not a really grim person who likes to watch animals die. It's just that when there are battles, there is more action and liveliness. I like it when the cats are alert and there is a lot of hoopla, because it is just more exciting that way.
Overall, I think that I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the first book who also likes animals, action, and combats.

Into the Wild
Hi! I am back and I am reading a book called Into the Wild by Erin Hunter. Into the Wild is the 1st book in a series called Warriors. There are 3 series of books in the Warriors series. The first series is called Warriors and it has 6 books. Those books are about house cat named Rusty who goes into the forest to join a clan of wild cats. The second series is Warriors: The New Prophecy, and it also has 6 books. Those books are about Rusty's daughters, and one of his daughter's mate. The third series is Warriors: The Power of Three and it has 5 books. The third series is about Rusty's 3 grandchildren, (hence the name, Power of Three).
Anyway, I have read all 3 series and I think that these books are pretty good. The books take place in England in a forest. There are 4 clans of wild cats who live there; ShadowClan, ThunderClan, RiverClan, and WindClan. The books focus on ThunderClan. In Into the Wild, there is a cat named Rusty. Rusty leaves his housefolk (owners) and goes to join ThunderClan. Normally, the Clans are hostile to kittypets (house cats). But this time, ThunderClan's leader, Bluestar, accepts Rusty into the Clan. I won't give away too much about the books because you have to read the whole book in order to read the next one.
As I said earlier, I have read all of the books, and I think these books are pretty good. I say this because there is a lot of action. Normally, you wouldn't think of a book about cats fighting would be good, but these books actually are very entertaining. I think that the reason I like these books is because they don't just focus in on one character alone. This book is written in 3rd person point-of-view. In the first series, they talk about Rusty, Bluestar (ThunderClan's leader), and Spottedleaf (ThunderClan's medicine cat). My personal favorite series is the 2nd series. I like this because 4 cats (one from each Clan) go on a long journey. Each chapter focuses in on a different cat. I like this because the book doesn't get boring. I don't like the 3rd series as much, because the same plot gets used over again, although my favorite character, Jayfeather, comes from that series.
I would definetly recommend this series to anyone who likes an adventure, action, and cats.

The Hunger Games
Hi! I am back and (as you may realize) I am reading the book "The Hunger Games." It is about a girl names Katniss, her sister Prim, and Katniss's friend Gale. It is kind of confusing at first because Katniss (this book is in first person) mentions the reaping and the Hunger Games. I was confused because I didn't know what the reaping or the Hunger Games were at first, but then Patrick told me that the reaping was where they picked the people who were going to participate in the Hunger Games. Apparently, nobody wants to be in the Hunger Games. I am not really sure why, but since the title is the Hunger Games, I am guessing that it will be something that has to do with going without food or something.
Katniss, Prim, and their mother live in District 12. I guess District 12 is not the greatest place to live, because they are obsessed with getting food and storing it, so maybe District 12 is poor or something like that.
At the reaping, Prim gets chosen, but Katniss takes her place. I predict that next, Katniss will either win the Hunger Games, or something will happen with Gale, because I can see some romance coming between them.
A lot of different people recommended this book to me, and so far, I think that this book is really good. I think it is good because it is not one of those books that you can predict everyhting that is going to happen.
In the beginning, I could tell that either Katniss, Gale, or Prim was going to be picked for the Hunger Games, because the title wouldn't be called The Hunger Games unless one of the main characters was actually in the Games.
On a scale of 1-10 (10 being high) I would give this book a 7 so far, because I can't predict what is going to happen next. I really do not like books that you can tell everything that is going to happen, because then there is no point to reading them. Anyway, this book is pretty good so far, so I will stick with it for at least one more week.
